Chakra Activation Workshop Series – Day 22 – Throat Chakra, Vishuddha
The Sense And The Throat Chakra
With sound frequencies as part of the etheric plane, and conceptualization and naming as important features at the throat chakra, hearing is the obvious connected sense. It is connected not only to listening, but to speaking, to being heard and to the quality of the voice.
The Body And The Throat Chakra
The mental body has a fluid texture and often reflects the throat chakra colours of blue, silver and turquoise. As its name implies, it is partly connected to intellect and abstract thought, to the world of ideas, conceptual blueprints and archetypes. It links us to the unseen patterns, subtle nuances and barely heard sounds which are aspects of complex communication. It enables divine principles to be apprehended, named and implemented.
Discarnate guides sometimes use the mental plane as their avenue of communication. The receiving medium then has difficulty in explaining how the communication happens. The mental bodies of guide and medium meet, and concepts or symbols which still require description are received. When the discarnate communicator and medium also engage their heart and brow chakras, more direct verbal communication with greater precision as to words and language style is possible.
The Glandular Connections And The Throat Chakra
The thyroid and parathyroid glands are part of the endocrine system and secrete their vital hormones according to the signals from the pituitary which might be called the ‘conductor of the endocrine orchestra’. The thyroid and parathyroids are situated in the neck. Thyroxine affects the metabolism, bodily heat control and many aspects of growth. If there is too much the body will go into over-active stress: too little and everything becomes too slow. Children without properly functioning thyroid glands develop cretinism because this hormone is essential to the development of the intellect.
The parathyroids are contained within the thyroid itself and secrete a hormone which maintains the correct levels of calcium in the blood. Muscle activity of all kinds, including heart function, depends on correct levels of calcium in the blood plasma.
The Fragrances And The Throat Chakra
Lavender and hyacinth quieten this chakra while patchouli and white musk stimulate it. People who have tense, high pitched, nervous voices usually need the quietening fragrances, as do those who are over-talkative or over anxious about finding the right work. Those who peak too softly or hardly at all, who are obviously under-achieving in their work and are unfulfilled but confused as to what to do about it, need the stimulating fragrances.
The Crystals And The Throat Chakra
Though this is not an exclusive and exhaustive list here are some of the popular crystals for this chakra and why.
Lapis Lazuli – aids expression of all kinds. It is helpful in healing deafness. It is a good crystal to have if you want to develop a musical talent or the art of colour co-ordination.
Aquamarine – assists in the easing of fears and phobias. It is an excellent stone for writers, journalists, and people who work in the media, as it aids positive communication with large audiences.
Sodalite – this is often mistaken for lapis lazuli. It has a similar depth of blue colour but lacks the gold spots which distinguish lapis. It is excellent for healing all throat conditions and the thyroid gland.
Turquoise – is a favourite stone of the American Indians. It aids in the search for true purpose by helping attunement to the higher self or ‘great spirit’. It provides clarity in all forms of communication.
Sapphire – is said to enable communication with beings from other planets. It strengthens the throat chakra and nurtures the gift of prophecy.
That is all for today, we are running a day behind due to the Bank Holiday so expect a bit of squeezing in perhaps over the weekend, until then Happy Crystals, Justine xxx
